WHAT WE STAND FOR
American Panthers stands for a
world united in peace and cooperation. We
believe that world peace and world unity can
best be achieved if we support the United
Nations.
American Panthers is appalled at the extent of crime in
the United States. We are for crime prevention,
professional jurors and other improvements to
our criminal justice system.
American Panthers is very concerned about current
threats to our basic liberties. We will exert
our best efforts to defend free speech and our
First Amendment rights.
American Panthers finds the Bush Administration's
assault on the free press to be shocking and
dangerous to our basic liberties. Freedom of the
Press must be maintained if we are to continue
to exist as a democracy. An independent press is
essential. It must be free of the bogus
reporters and the planted news stories of the
Bush Administration.
American Panthers believes that it is time for our
nation to develop a comprehensive health care
plan which must include government sponsored
medical insurance and the reduction of medical
costs.
American Panthers believes in and supports equal education
opportunity for all citizens, and affordable
higher education for those who are qualified.
American Panthers believes that energy independence is
essential for the United States. Without it, we
are forced to depend on the goodwill of foreign
suppliers, and we are forced to maintain a large
overseas military presence to protect those
supplies. We must absolutely eliminate our
current dependence on Middle East oil. There are
many elements to the solution of this problem
which include, broadly speaking, conservation,
exploration and development, alternative sources
of energy, and fuel efficiency mechanisms such
as hybrid automobiles.
American Panthers believes it is essential that we
protect our environment and that it is important
that the proper balance be given to
environmental issues when they come up against
the immediate requirements for human survival.
American Panthers believes that it is the essential
right of a woman to control her own reproductive
destiny. We believe that there should be no
obstructions to abortion in the first trimester
or when the health of the woman is threatened.
We support a woman's right to choose and Roe vs.
Wade. We are strongly against the efforts of
religious extremists to limit those rights.
American Panthers believes that guns do kill people. We
support gun control, and a complete ban on the
sale of automatic weapons, or weapons that can
be made to be automatic. Gun control laws should
be as strict and comprehensive as possible. In
addition, it seems to us to be self-evident that
the United States must ban automatic weapons in
the hands of the public.
American Panthers believes that a person's sexual
lifestyle is primarily a result of genetic
programming, and that it is essential that our
country legislate equal rights for different
lifestyles. For that reason we support gay
marriage, and are against any tax benefits that
may go to heterosexual unions and not be applied
equally to gays.
American Panthers strongly believes in the separation of
church and state. We are appalled by the
attempts of any religious group to force their
beliefs on citizens outside that group. One
example is the controversy of Darwin vs.
Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design, or
creationism, is clearly a religious belief held
by some individuals and has no place inside a
science classroom.
American Panthers believes in the necessity of worldwide
population control. We believe that worldwide
overpopulation will inevitably lead to mass
starvation, wars and plague. It is essential
that humanity's greatest minds join together
under the auspices of the United Nations to
solve this problem.
American Panthers believes that worldwide cooperation
under the auspices of the United Nations is
essential to meet modern challenges to the
betterment of humanity. These challenges include
worldwide starvation, wars, aids, poverty and
other scourges.
American Panthers believes that the federal budget
should be roughly in balance over a business
cycle. The deficit can be reduced in periods of
prosperity, and increased to stimulate the
economy in periods of recession. In essence we
believe in a balanced federal budget over time
and the reduction of the current huge federal
budget deficit.
American Panthers believes that the current rash of
civil litigation is a serious drag on our
economy and a hindrance to national prosperity.
For that reason we would support changes that
would eliminate frivolous lawsuits and curb civil
litigation. In no way does this mean that we
would want to put barriers in the way of
legitimate civil litigation.
American Panthers believes that the current Federal
income tax laws are preposterously complex,
unenforceable against the wealthy,
discriminatory against the poor and middle
class, and easily evaded. Our tax proposal would
close tax loopholes and generally simplify
Federal income tax filing. We have put forth a proposed
Form 1040 and a proposed Schedule A that would
help to attain those goals.
American Panthers will gradually build up a library of
comments about various social issues under the
heading "Fried Roosters" on our website and in
our newsletters. Topics covered thus far include
"Eliminate Daylight Savings Time" and "Intrusive
Solicitations"
American Panthers believes deeply in the necessity of
honesty in government. We intend to continue to
do battle against the current dishonest
President, including the Bush Iraq lies, false
news stories and coverups.
American Panthers believes that private Social Security
accounts might be beneficial if principal and
interest were absolutely guaranteed by the full
faith and credit of the United States
government, and that these accounts should be paid a
fixed, guaranteed, and inflation-adjusted rate
of interest. We believe that no private, or
stock, investments should be allowed for any
part of a person's Social Security account.
